- Vermiculite is ideal for plants growing from seed and helps both indoor and also outdoor plants. Vermiculite helps to absorb nutrients and prevents them from being washed out. It also releases them to plant roots. Vermiculite is a naturally occurring, non-toxic material. It is heated to a high temperature to produce a lightweight material with a high surface area.
- Gro-Sure Perlite is a mixture of naturally occurring volcanic rock that has been heated to high temperatures to produce micro-porous granules. Houseplant potting mix will help to promote healthy root growth by improving aeration, moisture retention and drainage. Our compost perlite mixes with soil, potting compost or garden compost to help prevent soil compaction and multipurpose composts root development. The perlite granules improves aeration and drainage.
- Vermiculite is a naturally occurring mineral which has been heated to high temperatures to produce lightweight, absorbent flakes, perfect for a range of gardening tasks. It encourages strong, healthy seedling growth and establishment.
- Perlite gravel for plant pots is made from a mined volcanic glass of the same name. As a raw material, it contains water, trapped by the rapid cooling of lava. The moisture vaporizes explosively when heat is applied. Its excellent for creating a free-draining potting compost for plants that need good drainage, such as cacti and succulents.
