Westland Gro-Sure Perlite is a mixture of naturally occurring volcanic rock that has been heated to high temperatures to produce micro-porous granules. This houseplant potting mix will help to promote healthy root growth by improving aeration, moisture retention and drainage. Perlite is a lightweight granular material that's white in colour. Plant food fertiliser is made from a blend of pure natural oils, the gel contains no synthetic growth hormones or fungicides. Unlike liquid and powder formulas, the gel stays in contact with the stem right through the rooting period for prolonged effectiveness. Rooting hormone products, which are commonly sold in gel form, contain natural auxins or synthetic compounds, which can be applied to clippings to stimulate root growth during propagation. Our compost perlite mixes with soil, potting compost or garden compost to help prevent soil compaction and multipurpose composts root development. The perlite granules improves aeration and drainage and is also stable and long-lasting. Taking a cutting from the parent plant is a great, easy way of growing a new plant. Using a rooting hormone based product will increase the chances of success in most cases. The root will develop quicker and will be of better quality than when rooting hormones are not used.
